September 16-17, 2015 – Soil and plant testing was completed mid-September for all cover crop sites in Southwestern Colorado and Southeastern Utah. Data for the baseline assessments will be discussed at the upcoming WSARE meeting. This data includes profiles of soil health and characterization, moisture and biological activity. Weather and the current practices of the sites were taken into consideration. With implementing cover crops into each farmers’ rotation, the team will be looking for improvements in the following year.
