On December 4-5, 2015, the High Desert Conservation District hosted the First Annual Southwest Agricultural Seminar at the Montezuma Annex in Cortez, Colorado. Presenters from the Four Corners area gathered to present the latest innovations in farming practice. Members of the Western SARE Dryland Cover Crops project were invited to speak, including Primary Investigator, Abdel Berrada from the CSU Southwestern Colorado Research Center and Southeastern Utah farmers, Shay Lewis of Lewis Farms and Blaine Nebeker of Crowley Farm. The seminar ended with these members participating in a panel discussion along with CSU Extension Directors, Gus Westerman and Tom Hooten and CSU Ag Business Management Economist, Jesse Russell.
